“As the President Pro Tem of the state Senate, and the senator for much of Sacramento County, I have multiple responsibilities to help solve the critical challenges of water in California.
The challenges – the same challenges that have existed for decades – are how to restore, not just protect, the ecosystem of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta communities, assure that any changes to the Delta are fully mitigated and ensure a reliable water supply for all Californians into the 21st century.
Reconciling my multiple duties is not a luxury – it’s essential.
