<description>The public should be asking why the selenium heavy metal-polluting agriculture of the western San Joaquin valley is allowed to get any water at all. There is no acceptable disposal solution for the toxic wastes that are generated through irrigation of these toxic soils. It was a big mistake to allow irrigation of this area to begin, but sooner or later these farms must be bought out and this poisoned land retired from production. There is no need to bankrupt the state building water conveyance facilities to bring more water to lands that never should have been irrigated in the first place.
