Lake Mendocino water levels to spark conservation

Changes to the language bring some relief, although the Mendocino County Water Agency noted in a report to supervisors that the drought is not over and a need to conserve remains.
Mendocino County Water Agency staff recommended to supervisors that there is no need at this time for 50 percent conservation in the absence of agricultural use and other factors.
“This time of year, our water use is typically low because the irrigation season is over and their is no need to do landscaping irrigation,” Water Agency general manager Roland Sanford said.
A ordinance for 20 percent voluntary conservation takes the place of 50 percent mandatory conservation in the original ordinance that was passed March 24. …”
