Imperial residents listen to revised water rate plan

“A group of residents sat in rapt attention Monday as city officials unveiled a revised water fee plan that changes the tier rates.

The meeting, in which the City Council took no action, was arranged in response to widespread disapproval of a water rate plan that would have hiked fees as much as $15 a month with rates set for the first three years under a two-tiered plan.

Both residential and commercial users would be charged $2.10 for water usage per hundred cubic feet if less than or equal to 30 units of hundred cubic feet during the first three years of the plan. …”
