Millview 50% water conservation order ended

“Millview County Water District removed its 50 percent water conservation ordinance at a Tuesday night board of directors meeting. The board also created a committee to further review Millview’s conservation policy.
A move to halt 50 percent conservation was expected, Millview manager Tim Bradley said before the meeting. Millview’s change follows changes to a county drought ordinance and expiration of a 50 percent conservation order from the State Water Board.
Vice President William Carson said that it will be time to evaluate Lake Mendocino when it gets closer to 30,000 acre feet of water. “I do not think we need to get anything at this time,” Carson said.
County supervisors changed their ordinance last week to state that if Lake Mendocino reaches 30,000 acre feet by the end of January it triggers a request for 50 percent mandatory conservation.
County supervisors are set to examine their drought ordinance again in early December. Like the county, Millview will be asking for 20 percent voluntary conservation.
“If we do not have rain by then we are going to have to get something done,” President Kenneth Budrow said. … “
