FRIENDLY REMINDER: Please turn your sprinklers off! Here’s the latest weather forecast from Accu-Weather:
“After a relatively calm weekend, a potent storm will return rain and snow to California tonight into Monday night. An invasion of cold air will cause the snow to not just be confined to the mountains.
The storm will spread northwest to southeast through the state. Rain will wet San Francisco and Sacramento late tonight into Monday. A bit of rain will be dampening Los Angeles and San Diego at the start of Monday, but the heaviest will pour down in the afternoon and evening.
Airline passengers should prepare for lengthy flight delays. Motorists, especially across Southern California, are being urged to use caution. Slick spots may develop on roads as the rain begins to wash away oil residue.
Enough rain will also fall that flash flooding and mudslides could ensue in the areas recently burned by wildfires. … “

This storm is so cold, it could possibly bring snow to the Bay Area mountains, says the Santa Ana Weather Examiner:
“There aren’t many weather patterns that can bring snow to near sea-level around the Bay Area, but its looking like we’ll see precisely that to start the week.
A very cold airmass is dropping down the coast, with air cold enough to support snow levels approaching 500 feet in the North Bay and down to 1,500 feet around San Jose and the southern end of the Bay Area.
There are a couple things working for this system to drop low snow: 1) obviously the source of the cold air: dropping down out of Canada from north to south mainly over land (that offers little modification versus our typical pattern that brings in moisture off the more mild Pacific ocean), 2) the time of day the best dynamics with this system kick in – during the early morning hours of Monday until midday coinciding with the coolest time of day. … “
