Imperial Valley farmers deal with affects of rain

From the Imperial Valley Press:

“Farmer Edward Hale stood in a field holding a clump of cut alfalfa. The bottom was lush and green, while the top was dried out and brown. “This is what happens when it rains,” he said.

Two of his 80-acre fields were cut before the forecast came out, he said. It wasn’t dry enough to make into bails, so it was stuck in the downpour, which downgraded its value and is costing him money.

While weather has an effect on everyone, it can cost farmers money or just slow them down.

And the rain may not be over yet. … “
