North Monterey County water study heads to board

“A study looking into the environmental impacts of a potential water pipeline for the Granite Ridge neighborhood could get the go-ahead Tuesday. That’s when the Monterey County Board of Supervisors will consider a contract to create the study, a key requirement of all development projects in the state.

Families in the Granite Ridge area have struggled with dry wells for as long as four years, often paying to have drinkable water hauled up to their homes.

The study, which would cost about $195,900, would look at the environmental impacts of a pipeline that would bring water to the north Monterey County community. … “
