From the Department of Water Resources:
SACRAMENTO — Department of Water Resources (DWR) Director Lester Snow today issued the following statement in response to the release of the Interim Federal Action Plan for the California Bay-Delta:
“We are encouraged by the initiatives and progress outlined in this action plan for the Delta. It signals the strong commitment of federal agencies to resolve California’s pressing water challenges and, more importantly, to work more closely with state agencies in dealing with the complex resources issues in the Delta. With the recent enactment of Governor Schwarzenegger’s comprehensive water package, this federal-state partnership will take advantage of a historic window of opportunity to address critical ecosystem and water supply issues for millions of Californians. We look forward to working with Secretary Salazar to finalize the coordinated federal-state work plan on California water issues and specific near-term actions by February 2010.”
