Imperial Irrigation District board approves budget

From the Imperial Valley Press:

“The Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors voted 3-2 to approve the 2010 budget at Tuesday’s IID board meeting.
IID directors John Pierre Menvielle, Stella Mendoza and Anthony Sanchez voted in favor, and directors Jim Hanks and Michael Abatti voted against.

Amendments about staff reduction and reorganization, as well as payments from San Diego County Water Authority may be made in January.

Hanks said he did not vote for the budget because he wanted to see a completed version including the possible amendments.

“I don’t feel I had a baseline to start the year off on,” Hanks said. … “
