Air bubbles to cloud East, South Bay tap water

“Tap water may look cloudy to customers in the East Bay, South Bay and parts of the Peninsula for the next eight weeks, but it will be as pure and tasty as ever, officials said Wednesday.

The cloudy appearance will come from tiny air bubbles that dissipate in about 15 seconds, said Dave Briggs, manager of water supply and treatment for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, which runs the water system.

“It’s harmless,” Briggs said. “It’s just air.” … “
