Abatti supports expedited All-American Canal safety measures

“Funding possibilities for safety buoys in the lined portion of the All-American Canal exist, said Imperial Irrigation District Director Michael Abatti at Tuesday’s board meeting. He said he met with the Bureau of Reclamation in Washington, D.C., recently. The Bureau of Reclamation owns the All-American Canal.
“Based on discussions I had last week with Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner Mike Connor and members of the California congressional delegation, there are certain funding opportunities available to the district that haven’t been explored, much less pursued,” Abatti said. … “
