Tractors clog California’s I-5 freeway in water cuts protest

Posted by: Maven on June 16, 2009 at 3:42 pm

From the San Francisco Chronicle:

Several dozen farmers drove tractors onto a busy freeway in Central California to call attention to water shortages in the region.

Farmers are experiencing the third year of a drought. Water shortages have been intensified by federal diversions to protect salmon and other endangered fish in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.

Authorities say Monday’s demonstration on Interstate 5 may be linked to an accident involving two big rigs.

Farmers are not likely to discover more water at their tractor demonstrations.

Strange that none of them have ever inquired about a truly new NON-TRIBUTARY fresh water Source that can yield a million acre feet EACH YEAR and be stored/accumulated in the unused air space in Lake Mead which is 50% empty and holds 28.5 million acre feet.

All 450 CA water districts, CA agencies and the Bureau of Reclamation have been offered a complete confidential disclosure of the Source. The Source can be developed without damage to the environment or the water rights of anyone, anywhere.

Some will say that an inquiry is ill advised … ill advised is causing an unnecessary accident that didn’t produce a single new drop of water … only drops of blood.
